No. You will receive calls from business office staff related to your insurance co-pay and from nursing staff to verify health history information and go over instructions within the week before your procedure.
Loose, comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes. Avoid shoes like flip flops that do not provide support or stability in walking.
Although one of the least desirable “rules” before surgery, this instruction is very important for the protection of your airway during anesthesia. Your surgery may be cancelled if you do so.
Take any medications that your physician has suggested the morning of surgery with a small sip of water. To view a list, please refer to the day of surgery checklist.
Please stop all herbal medications immediately, but you may continue your vitamin regimen.
If you are having anesthesia, you will need to have someone over the age of 18 remain at the surgery center during your procedure to receive discharge instructions, drive you home, and stay with you for 24 hours after your surgery. Please make arrangements ahead of time.

Shower the night before or morning of your procedure. You may wash your hair and use an anti-bacterial soap (preferred) for your body. Avoid perfumes, lotions and deodorants the morning of surgery.
If you are ill with fever, chest cold, vomiting or diarrhea just before the day of your surgery, please contact your surgeon’s office; he or she may contact us to discuss the possibility of postponing your procedure.
Please discuss with your surgeon if you think that you may be pregnant. It is not recommended to follow through with elective surgery when pregnant. If surgery is necessary due to an injury, your surgeon will want to schedule your procedure at the hospital.
